Day 3 - Elder visits // Grace Village // Fleri

Our 3rd full day and what an incredible day it has been. We started with elder visits - we washed their feet, rubbed lotion on their backs and hands and served them lunch. It was a gift to serve them in this way. We finished our visit with praying over them and singing worship songs.

We then traveled to a boutique called "Rosie's" where we enjoyed ice cream and other frozen treats - it was a welcome break from the heat! In the afternoon we visited and toured Grace Village - we saw the lunchroom where 500 meals are prepared each day, the different classrooms, family style homes for orphans, and the clinic. After our tour we went to Fleri - a bakery which employs Haitians and gives them incredible employment opportunities. They served us delicious pizza and other appetizers. We all enjoyed trying the different kinds of pizzas they offer. We headed back to our guesthouse and gathered for team time - we enjoyed cookies from Fleri, worshipped and shared stories and our words of the day:
Annette - LEADER
Lauren - MUSIC
Lydia - BREAD OF LIFE
Kate - GRATEFUL
Amy - PRECIOUS
Justin - PASSION
Aphton - CHANGE
Savannah - INSPIRE
Jen - FAMILY
Maya - SERVE
Josh - SERVANTHOOD
Sue - VESSEL
Corrina - FAMILY
Jenny - RELAXING
Craig - INTENT
Abe - SACRIFICE
Shannon - COMMUNITY

We continue to feel your prayers - will you continue to pray for us? We are so appreciative of the support and love we feel from family and friends.

  1. It’s great to hear the stories of what you all are doing. It struck me that you never know what you are capable of unless you have been encouraged, pushed, or stretched beyond what you’ve done before. I trust the team members are exceeding their prior limits in loving others, working hard, meeting strangers, eating different food, feeling grateful, and did I mention loving others, all for the opportunity to be the hands, feet and smiling face of Jesus. Perhaps only eternity will reflect the impact of the trip on others. But, it could be that once back home everyone will see the impact the trip had on you.
